Learning Adventures Students Will Remember

This 7-day Guilin school trip turns Guilin’s rivers, karst mountains, rice terraces, caves, villages, and tea gardens into a real outdoor classroom. Students don’t just visit scenic spots — they hike, cycle, camp, cook, create, explore, and work together while discovering local culture and nature.

Experience Real Life in Longji Rice Terraces

Walk through the spectacular Longji Rice Terraces, visit a local family, cook bamboo rice, and learn how mountain communities live with the land. Seasonal activities may include transplanting rice seedlings, rice harvest, or learning about terrace farming from local farmers.

Explore the Li River Beyond the Tourist Route

Discover the quieter side of the Li River with riverside hiking, karst hill viewpoints, sunset scenery, and local fishermen along the river bank. Students can see Guilin’s natural beauty from a more active and memorable perspective.

Camp Beside the Li River Under the Stars

Build your own tent camp, enjoy a BBQ dinner, and stay overnight near the river surrounded by green hills and fresh air. This outdoor experience helps students build confidence, independence, and teamwork.

Create Local Art in Fuli Ancient Town

Paint your own Guilin landscape on a handmade fan, then visit beautiful tea gardens to pick tea leaves and learn how local tea is made. These hands-on cultural activities make learning creative and personal.

Join Safe Outdoor Adventures in Yangshuo

Cycle through Yangshuo’s charming countryside, explore a half-developed cave, and learn about underground limestone formations, karst mountains, and local villages with guidance from experienced coaches.

Build Teamwork Through Fun Challenges

Students take part in team-building tasks such as raft making, rock climbing, local snack missions, and outdoor problem-solving games. Each activity is designed to encourage leadership, cooperation, communication, and confidence.

Your 7-Day Guilin Outdoor Learning Journey

This itinerary is fully customizable for your school group, student age, learning goals, safety needs, and activity level. It combines Guilin karst landscapes, Longji Rice Terraces, Li River scenery, Yangshuo outdoor adventure, village culture, and teamwork challenges into one structured educational trip.

Day 1 – Arrive in Guilin

Welcome Dinner & Trip Orientation

Arrive at Guilin Liangjiang International Airport, Guilin Railway Station, Guilin North Railway Station, or Guilin West Railway Station. Your private guide and driver will meet the group and transfer you to a centrally located hotel.

In the evening, enjoy a welcome dinner and a short trip briefing covering safety, teamwork, outdoor activities, and the learning themes of the week.

Mountain Village Life & Farming Culture

Travel to the spectacular Longji Rice Terraces, also known as Dragon’s Backbone. Walk along paved stone paths through rice paddies, green hills, and traditional wooden houses.

Students will visit a local family, learn to make bamboo rice, and understand how local farmers live and work in the mountains. Depending on the season, they may try transplanting rice seedlings, catching fish in the fields, or joining the rice harvest.

Return to Guilin for dinner and overnight.

Li River Hiking, Xingping Ancient Town & Riverside Camp

Drive toward the Li River and climb a karst viewpoint for a panoramic view of Guilin’s famous mountains and river bends.

Instead of only taking a standard river cruise, students will hike along a beautiful section of the Li River toward Xingping Ancient Town, stopping at riverside villages and photo points.

In the afternoon, students build their own tent camp near the river bank, enjoy a BBQ dinner, and watch local fishermen or evening river life before staying overnight near nature.

Paper Fan Painting & Local Tea Experience

Take a ferry or local transfer to Fuli Ancient Town, known for handmade painted fans and traditional craft workshops.

Students will paint their own Guilin landscape on a paper fan and learn how local artists turn mountains, rivers, and village scenes into cultural artwork.

In the afternoon, visit one of Guilin’s beautiful tea gardens. Students will pick tea leaves, learn how to choose fresh leaves, watch the process of frying tea, and taste local tea with guidance from farmers.

Stay overnight in Yangshuo.

Countryside Cycling & Cave Exploration

Cycle through Yangshuo’s charming countryside, passing rice fields, local villages, karst mountains, and quiet rural roads. The cycling route can be adjusted based on students’ energy and safety requirements.

After a picnic lunch, explore a half-developed limestone cave with an experienced English-speaking outdoor coach. Students will learn about underground limestone formations, karst geology, cave safety, and natural systems.

Stay overnight in Yangshuo.

Raft Building, Rock Climbing & Award Ceremony

Spend the day in the Yulong Valley area with structured outdoor teamwork tasks led by professional coaches.

Activities may include raft building, rock climbing, countryside navigation, local snack missions, and finding local attractions. Each task is designed to develop communication, leadership, problem-solving, and confidence.

After the activities, hold a summary and award ceremony, followed by a farewell dinner in Yangshuo.

Smooth Transfer Home

After breakfast, transfer from Yangshuo back to Guilin airport or railway station for departure. Your guide will assist with luggage, check-in, and final group coordination.
